World Coffee Championships Start Next Week!

In less than one week’s time World Coffee Events (WCE) will present the 2016 World Latte Art, Coffee Roasting, Coffee In Good Spirits and Cup Tasters Championships. Attendees at HOTELEX in Shanghai, China can catch the events live, while fans the world over can keep up-to-date with all the action on Livestream, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram under the hash-tags: #WLAC #WCIGS #WCTC #WCRC.
Over 70 competitors from all over the world will gather to compete in Shanghai. Each competitor is themselves a champion, having won a preliminary competition in the lead up to the 2016 World Championships. Asked about the events, WCE Board Chair Marcus Boni responded:
“We are thrilled to be partnering with HOTELEX Shanghai to bring an impressive 4 world championships to China. We see the Chinese market as a hugely exciting field, where a burgeoning interest in coffee consumption and production makes for a perfect world stage. I'm expecting a truly memorable week as we represent Specialty Coffee at such an exciting event!”
The events kick off Tuesday, March 29th at 10:30 AM Shanghai time and run through Friday at 3:00PM. You can follow along live at https://livestream.com/worldcoffee.
The competitions wraps up with an official afterparty hosted by CMA Astoria, Dazheng, and HOTELEX at Shanghai Himalayas Wuji area, 1st Floor, No.869 Yinghua Road, Pudong, Shanghai, China. (Right opposite to the Exhibition Center). You can get your ticket at the WCE merchandise shop (WLAC Stage, Hall E7) and CBC counters (China barista championship stage, Hall N5).
