Outraged Christians boycott Starbucks over 'politically correct' Christmas red cup design
The cup, which changes every year, doesn't include any Christmas illustration this season. Christians are upset by this year's Starbucks festive cup design - because the plain cup doesn't have any reference to Jesus.
Evangelists have accused the coffee chain of declaring war on Christmas with their new minimal design.
This has led religious types to boycott Starbucks who, they claim, hate Jesus .
A religious leader has called for a worldwide boycott of the brand after he claims they want to take Christ out of Christmas.
Former Arizona pastor Joshua Feuerstein posted an angry rant on Facebook calling for the boycott of the US chain. He wrote: Do you realize that Starbucks wanted to take Christ and Christmas off of their brand new cups? That's why they're just plain red.
In fact, do you realize that Starbucks isn't allowed to say Merry Christmas to customers?
He posted a video ranting about the chain, urging followers to use the hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks to call them out on the design.
And the Christian figure also urged to tell baristas their name is Merry Christmas to trick them into writing the greeting on the cup.Bizarrely, Conservative MP David Burrowes claimed the move is because of political correctness and said Brits, regardless of faith, should celebrate Christmas.
He told Breitbart London: The Starbucks coffee cup change smells more of political correctness than a consumer-led change.
The public has a common sense grasp on the reality that at Christmas time, whether you have a Christian faith or not, Britain celebrates Christmas.
