Sri Lanka: tea export revenue declines in first half
Total revenue from tea exports in the first half of 2015 declined by a substantial 13.3 billion rupees to 90.7 billion rupees when compared to the same period in 2014.
Likewise, in the January-June 2015 period total exports were down by 5.9 million kilo grams to 151.5 million kilo grams from the same period in 2014.
Meanwhile, tea exports fell 9.5% or by 2.9 million kilo grams to 27.8 million kilo grams in June 2015 from a year ago,with a decline in tea bags and packets.
