Webinar: Growing Coffee without Endosulfan - experiences with cultural controls for Coffee Berry Borer (CBB)
In the first of three webinars to be delivered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), this installment looks at Integrated Pest Management practices as an alternative to using the highly hazardous pesticide Endosulfan to control the Coffee Berry Borer (CBB) pest. It aims to share practical experiences of coffee farmers in managing CBB with field hygiene measures (often called cultural controls).
The webinar will feature video documentation on the experiences of coffee farmers in Colombia and Nicaragua as well as key points from PAN UK about implementing cultural controls. There will also be a dedicated time-slot for questions and discussions with the presenter.
Growing Coffee Without Endosulfan is a joint project between the 4C Association and the Pesticide Action Network (PAN) UK and supported by the Sustainable Coffee Programme powered by IDH, the UN Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the ISEAL Alliance.
