Over the 8 years, the foundation has achieved a great deal – it built Eastern Europe's biggest centre for paediatric haematology in Moscow, created a database of unpaid donors ready to donate blood at short notice and most importantly helped over 25,500 children. Gift of Life, Podari Zhizn's UK sister organisation, was established in 2011 to fundraise and support Podari Zhizn's international projects, such as purchasing vital medicines currently unavailable in Russia orfacilitation of teaching and operating visits of foreign cancer specialists to Russia. Over its lifetime, Gift of Life has raised over £1,000,000 for Podari Zhizn, which so far has paid for 55 children to undergo expensive courses of treatment. In addition, it has been financing surgeries in Russia by foreign specialists within the framework of its International Cooperation project. This year, the renowned German surgical oncologist Ingo Melcher has already visited Moscow several times, and operated on 14 young patients at the Dmitry Rogachev Centre for Paediatric Haematology, Oncology and Immunology. The foundation celebrated its birthday with the Mad Hattes Tea Party campaign https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=902419743103070&id=662443600434020 kicking off its tea party season just where you'd expect - in the land of tea lovers, England. The first fundraising tea party of the campaign was hosted in London by Podari Zhizn and Gift of Life co-founder, Dina Korzun, who brought the foundation's friends together at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel's cafe on the 24th of November. The event raised close to £2,000. Later, the Saint Petersburg Gallery in London joined in, as did the UK Russian-speaking Mums' Group amongst others. As of today, the UK Mad Tea Party event has raised. £3141 The money will help fund further surgeries by Dr Melcher, each costing around £4,000.
