Suddenly has died Vincenzo Sandalj – the president of the Sandalj Trading (Trieste), a connoisseur of coffee and respected professional which is known and appreciated by everyone in the world of coffee, a long-standing friend of the magazine Coffee and Tea in Russia. The sudden death of Vincenzo is a huge loss for his family and for the whole coffee community, which is obliged to him for the coffee culture and Italian espresso widespread in the world. Vincenzo was always ready to help, he gave answers to complicated questions regarding the coffee market, wrote articles for a magazine, gave interviews and comments, he was an honored guest of the Forum, organized by the magazine. In September, he was planning to visit a coming event - UCTIE. But, alas! .. We will not see a soft calm smile, thoughtful look of this amazing man, we will be able no longer to immerse in the atmosphere of unhurried conversation with him. Having taken over the reins of his father in 1979, Vincenzo has achieved great success: today the company has thousands of customers in more than fifty countries. Among his many duties of international importance threre have been the position of the Trade Advisor of the Italian delegation to the International Coffee Organization in London. He was also the European representative in the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and a consultant to the World Trade Center of the United Nations in Geneva of the project Specialty coffee potential development in exporting and importing countries, the founder, board member and finally president of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe in 2003-2004. A book he had written Coffee. Triumph of variety , was published in seven languages, including Russian. Vincenzo Sandalj occupied a position of the Caffe Trieste President, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Cup of Excellence (U.S.) and, finally, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia.
