Although the participants registration for the Forum was set to start at 8 a.m., the most responsible of them began to come to Swissotel Conference Center from 7 a.m. The interest to the event exceeded all Organizing Committee’s expectations. 570 coffee business professionals representing companies from all coffee market segments visited the Forum. There were producers and suppliers of green coffee, roasters and instant coffee processors, coffee and coffee equipment distributors, shops, coffee houses and barista. According to the data from the Organizing Committee delegates from 14 countries and 11 Russian regions took part in Forum work. Among honorable guests of Forum there were present: Chief Executive of European Specialty Coffee Association David Veal and President of American Specialty Coffee Association Max Quirin. The Head of science, industrial policy and entrepreneurship Department Alexey Komissarov gave a speech greeting the participants on behalf of Moscow Government. The opening ceremony of Moscow International Coffee Forum was attended by heads of companies and golden sponsors of the Forum - General Director of Coffee Importers KLD Andrey Elson, General Director of SFT-Trading Andrey Savin, Marketing Director of Strauss company Anton Eine and General Director of Buen cafe Constanza Mejia de los Rios. MICF-3 program which had a variety of activities, including presentations, interactive discussions, educational seminars, tastings, barista competitions and other events was fully implemented. During the Forum the main trends and particularities of the world and Russian coffee industry were discussed, the most expectable scenarios for the industry development in the short and medium term were presumed. The Forum was held in anticipation of tea and coffee season, when in Moscow was launched one of the largest annual exhibitions of food and beverages - World Food Moscow 2012, which certainly increased the effectiveness of MICF-3.
