On ZAO “SFT TRADING” invitation the president of Specialty Coffee Association of America Max Quirin will take part in the 3-d Moscow International Coffee Forum. It is the first time in Russian coffee business when the actual president of the currently biggest specialty association in the world SCAA, functioning more than 25 years, visits our country. Participation of the SCAA president in the MICF 2012 work is an additional evidence of the event status. It has become not only the main regional event of the coffee industry, but also an important meeting point for international coffee community. Max Quirin will take part in discussions of the round table “Developments in coffee producing countries and their implications for the world coffee market , organized by “SFT TRADING” company. According to the MICF 2012 Organizing Committee information, Max Quirin will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Coffee Forum. * Max Quirin — is a unique person. He is the first non-American man, who became the president of SCAA. Max grew up on the coffee farm in Coban, Guatemala in the family of German immigrants . His farm Valle Esmeralda is situated in Alta Verapaz region on the north of the country, not far from San-Cristobal Verapaz.  What Max says about himself: “Work with coffee is absolutely natural for me. For all my life I have been growing coffee on my farm in Coban. In 1988 I have become the family business director. In 1993 I began my work in ANACAFE (Coffee Association of Guatemala), where I held various positions - a member of the Board of Directors, Vice-President, and finally - the president. At that difficult time of crisis for the coffee industry, I represented ANACAFE in the ICO (International Coffee Organization) and ACPC (Association of Coffee-producing countries), where Guatemala made a bet on the production of quality product, so that it could count on the best prices. From 1995 to 1997 and after, starting from 2002, I have been working in the International Relations Committee of SCAA. In 1997, I led the project Portrait of the country for the annual Congress of the SCAA. This allowed me to set some standards by which members of SCAA consider the country.
