5 kg of single estate tea were sold for 6000 dollars

On September, 14th Tea Board of Sri Lanka and Association of tea traders of Colombo with support of the embassy of Sri Lanka and Association "RUSTEACOFFEE" conducted the charity auction at WorldFood Exhibition in Moscow, Russia. As lots the elite teas from Sri Lanka plantations were represented that won the competition the day before and got golden, silver and bronze certificates. The means received from the tea auction will go for social development and needs of workers of Sri Lanka tea plantations as well as to workers' families.
The maximum sum of money $6 000 for a five-kilogram lot of tea-winner Tea Bank GOLD from region of Sri Lanka Ruhuna paid Sergey Demin ( Mlesna Russia).
During the auction elite teas from the regions Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa, Kandy, Nuwara Elia, Uda Pusselawa, Dimbula, Uva were sold, as well as granulated and green tea for the sum over $15000.
