According to a study of coffee market in Russia in 2010, during the period from 2006 to 2010 coffee production in Russia increased by more than 64%, from 33000 tons in 2006 to 54000 tons in 2010. In the same period the average annual growth rate of coffee production in Russia amounted as 20.7%.
The structure of the coffee market in Russia is characterized by a clear predominance of instant coffee segment. The share of coffee production in this sector is 65%.But in the Russian market is still observed a long term trend with consumers switching from instant coffee to premium ground and bean coffee.
