According to the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Moscow International Coffee Forum, Association «Rusteacoffee» and the Organization of Coffee Manufacturers in Russia (OCM) have joined their forces to support this major domestic industry event. As to Robert May, Executive Director of OCM, the Moscow International Coffee Forum is the ultimate venue for the professional discussion of key trends and issues facing the development of the coffee industry in Russia. It is the sole event in Russia that brings together Russia’s leading coffee industry players, retailers, consumers and specialists to have dynamic exchange of experience and maintain direct contact with global coffee experts. This year’s agenda is particularly valuable as it evaluates global and regional impacts on the sector’s development in Russia, as well as leading trends in consumption, investment and sustainability of the Russian coffee market. In his turn, Ramaz Chanturiya, General Director of the Association «Rusteacoffee» and the head of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, noted importance of joint efforts in the process of industry communication. “I’m convinced that with such a support, the Forum will take place with a maximum efficiency for its participants”. During the Forum representatives of the industry associations uniting almost the whole coffee market will make a common report dedicated to the topic “Current state of the coffee industry in Russia”. Based in Moscow, it currently unites six of the leading coffee producing companies including Kraft Foods Rus LLC, Nestle Russia LLC, Paulig Coffee LLC, Tchibo CIS LLC, Sara Lee Russia LLC and Montana Coffee LLC. Combined, OCM members account for over 60% of the total Russian coffee market. The primary goal of the OCM is to develop and improve the coffee market in Russia by maintaining high standards and enhancing the culture of coffee consumption through its “Positively Coffee” program. The OCM engages in a wide range of initiatives. It works closely with Russian state regulatory bodies and plays a leading role in the process to harmonize Russian coffee regulations and standards with international best practices,. The OCM also participates in and receives funding from the International Coffee Organization’s Health Care Professions Coffee Education Program (HCP CEP).
