Coffee drinking is one of the most ambiguous needs of the modern man. On the one hand, it is greatly popular, and for many people a cup of this fragrant drink every morning is a must. On the other, opinions and judgments regarding the usefulness of caffeine vary so wildly that even coffee connoisseurs do not have all the answers. At the 2nd Moscow International Coffee Forum, anybody can finally obtain the most inclusive and exhaustive information concerning the influence of caffeine on human health. Astrid Nehlig (France), a leading authority on the subject, will present her workshop, What do we know about coffee and health? The researcher obtained her master's degree in physiology and two doctoral degrees, one in physiology and the other in the functional biochemistry of the nervous system, from the University of Henri Poincaré, Nancy; currently she is the research director at the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM) in Strasbourg. The research Astrid has carried out answers the following questions: What amount of coffee is good for your health? Is there a difference between the impact of caffeine on men and women? How true are various myths and prejudices linking coffee to diseases, tumors, and pregnancy? It also covers many other subjects that are usually overlooked by coffee lovers. “Orimi Trade”, the leader of roasted ground coffee segment, is the sponsor of this event (brands “Jokei”, “Jardin”) which is a part of the 400 top Russia companies (by magazine “Expert” research) and it is the largest producer tea and natural roasted coffee in Russia. The workshop of Astrid Nehlig will be held as part of the MICF on February 8, 2010, from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm, at the InfoSpace Information Center at the following address: 4, 1st Zachatyevsky Pereulok, Moscow.
